Why was I invited to Cense?

Your bank works with Cense to assess crypto-related activity from clients. If you have been invited, it means your bank has asked Cense to help review your cryptocurrency holdings or transactions as part of a standard compliance process.

This is not a cause for concern. Banks are required by law to understand the origin of funds — including cryptocurrency — held or transferred by their clients. Cense provides the structured documentation that makes this process straightforward for both you and your bank.

“We work in collaboration with financial institutions to enable compliance with financial regulation.”

What happens when you use Cense

You connect your crypto wallets and exchange accounts to Cense. Cense then analyses your transaction history and produces a compliance report — documenting the origin and legitimacy of your crypto holdings in a format your bank can act on.

The process is read-only. Cense never accesses, moves or controls your funds. Your private keys and seed phrases are never requested.

Most assessments are completed in approximately 15 minutes.

Why your bank uses Cense

Banks are legally required under AML regulations to verify the source of funds for clients with cryptocurrency holdings. Without structured documentation, your bank cannot process or accept crypto-related transfers — regardless of whether your funds are entirely legitimate.

Cense provides exactly this documentation: a structured, auditable compliance report that gives your bank’s compliance team a clear and complete basis to proceed.

Is Cense safe to use?

Yes. Cense is a Swiss-based compliance platform certified to SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR standards. It is trusted by regulated financial institutions including Van Lanschot Kempen, ARAB Bank and Mastercard. Your data is processed securely and used exclusively for the compliance assessment requested by your bank.
