We feel your pain. Not only do we feel it, we live it every day. Cense is born from Glassnode, since 2017 the leader in on-chain (blockchain) market analytics for Bitcoin and Ethereum. We live and breath crypto and we all have been struggling for years with the challenges that crypto and financial institutions oppose. Every single one of us has had additional inquiries on crypto transactions, often with the threat of closure of the bank account.

Next to the high technical and data work that we love, a lot of us have also worked in the compliance departments where we also had to send out those information request under threat of closure, but we have also people that have done the actual investigations of crypto transactions and we still help out law enforcement to actually catch the bad guys

But we refuse to believe that most people in crypto are criminals. Our own experience also doesn’t say that. With all of our experience in compliance and investigations, we don’t see more than 10% of the users having illicit intents. That means that 90% of the people that use crypto are simply normal people investing in crypto. We are there for them. We believe that the 90% of the people should have a seamless experience between fiat and crypto money flows.

Yes, we weave out and identify the 10% for our customers, but we focus on the 90%. We belong to the 90%. And therefore we decided to pick up the glove and solve this problem. We have analyzed and validated the existing compliance processes of the banks, and have digitally replicated those processes. With Cense, compliance departments still send out their ‘request for information’, only you now send a link towards a tool instead of receiving individual csv files. Then the calculated outcome is a simple report that ticks all the regulatory boxes from an on-chain perspective. It’s that simple.

That report then allows you to risk score the user, and put that user in the correct risk appetite bucket. Not every crypto user is a high risk user, with Cense you will know the actual risk that your customers truly holds. And although it’s a consent based system, the blockchain is transparent enough that there is no more cheating. Our ‘hidden wealth’ algorithms allows us to expose to you what your customer is not telling you.

Cense provides a complete new paradigm for crypto compliance. Our perspective is a consolidated view of the user and all of their crypto activities. That includes their data from crypto exchanges combined with the data of their blockchain wallets. This allows you to take an actual informed decision of the user.
